MEET WIL KENNEDY

Wil Kennedy is the oldest son of a blue collar worker, who earned his way into management in the shipbuilding industry, and a retired educator, who taught in public schools for almost 40 years in Mississippi. His interest in policy and government stemmed from his days at Youth Legislature and Boys State as well as lobbying the Mississippi Legislature and consulting with Texas public schools to increase revenue.

In 2006,  Wil Kennedy and along with his wife, moved to Brazoria County to start a family, be good stewards, and live the American dream. 

Since 2021, Wil Kennedy has been apart of the growth in Iowa Colony, first as a City Councilman and now Mayor. He has shown that anything is possible if we marry vision and purpose to our potential.

Wil Kennedy is running for re-election as Mayor of Iowa Colony because, while our city has made tremendous progress, he believes we can do more— together. We’re growing Iowa Colony forward through increased jobs growth, economic development across the entire city, and stronger neighborhood safety.
